This easy bbq rub is a staple in my pantry. If I am stumped about what to serve for dinner I almost always pull this out and whip up some bbq chicken.
Or bbq pork, or bbq salmon…pretty much bbq “whatever I have in the fridge”.
And ya know what?
It’s always a hit.
So do yourself a favor and make a big ol’ batch of this rub to keep in the pantry for those “what the heck is for dinner!?” days.
You know the saying that sometimes having champagne in your fridge is reason enough to celebrate? Well, I think the same thing about having bbq rub in your pantry. If you have a delicious rub and a couple slabs of meat, why wouldn’t you have a party?
I’ll wait while you come up with zero good excuses.
All done? That’s what I thought.
Well then, you my friend, better get your party shoes on because you ALREADY have a delicious bbq rub in your pantry. You just need to go mix it up.
Here’s what you’re gonna need:
Adapted from Amazing Ribs.com
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1/4 cup paprika
1/4 cup salt
3 tablespoons garlic powder
3 tablespoons onion powder
2 tablespoons pepper
2 tablespoons ginger
2 tablespoons chili powder
1 tablespoon rosemary
Here’s what your gonna do:
Measure all of the spices.
Mix em up and store in an airtight container (I use a mason jar).
This rub is great on just about anything you can throw on a grill (or eat in general). Whether you’re cookin ribs, salmon, chicken, or even veggies you won’t regret taking the extra few minutes to whip up this concoction. And, bonus, one batch makes about 2 1/2 cups of rub so you’ll have plenty leftover for next time (and probably the time after that, too)!
