Spring is coming! Spring is coming!
Shout it from the hills, Spring is coming!
And nothing says Spring to me like a big ol’ glass of cold iced sweet tea.
Or a giant bowl of juicy citrus fruit.
So I decided to combine them…and boy am I glad I did! I think you will be too!
As you can probably guess, we’ve had a few pretty warm days down here, so I thought I would celebrate by sharing this deliciously refreshing citrus iced green tea. It’s light, sweet, tart, and did I mention refreshing?
Even my husband went back for a second (and third) glass, so you know its good.
Here’s what you’re gonna need:
4 green tea bags
Here’s what you’re gonna do:
Cut 1 orange in quarters and 1 lemon and 1 lime in half.
Juice each citrus into a pitcher.
Heat 4 cups of water until almost boiling and steep 4 green tea bags for about 5 minutes. Add 2-3 tablespoons of honey, to taste.
Remove the tea bags and place tea in the fridge until cool.
Slice remaining citrus, adding half to the same pitcher as the juice and using the other half in serving glasses.
Fill the pitcher with ice and add the cooled tea.
