Well, Thanksgiving has come and gone…which probably means you are up to your ears in leftover turkey and mashed potatoes. It probably also means that you have been carefully avoiding all bathrooms that contain a scale for the last few days.
I do it too. No shame.
But…sooner rather than later we will all have to face the dreaded post Thanksgiving weigh in (preferably some time next week, or the week after…) and one of my favorite treats to help counter act the inevitable needle-creep of the holidays are smoothies.
They are nutritious, filling and most importantly…not covered in cheese and butter.
The only key to making sure you’re blissfully satisfied after your smoothie and not eyeing the rest of that pecan pie is to use big, delicious flavors like ginger, basil or in the case of these easy black cherry and mint smoothies…fresh mint!
Here’s what you’re gonna need:
1 cup milk (may need more depending on how thick you like your smoothies)
2 cups frozen black cherries (or regular cherries, whichever you prefer)
1-2 tablespoons honey
1/4 cup fresh mint leaves
Here’s what you’re gonna do:
Combine all ingredients in a blender.
Blend until smooth.
Serve with a fun straw and enjoy your guilt free treat!
