Chocolate Guinness Cake Mix Cupcakes

Hey there, Sweetie! I love a good party, don’t you? My husband recently had a birthday and to celebrate we hosted a beer tasting themed party, inspired by (and poking a bit of fun at) his love of the ever classy, Miller Lite. You can check out my “Happy Beer-day” pinterest board for all of my inspiration, but one of the most popular (and most delicious) details of the party were my Chocolate Guinness Cupcakes! They were a huge hit and because when I host a party I like to actually enjoy my guests, you can bet that they were just as easy as they were delicious…thanks mainly to store bought cake mix. One of the keys to […]

Easy 5 Layer Taco Dip

Howdy, Sweetie! I love this time of year. It’s that time when friends and family stop by just to catch up and you have a different party to attend (or host) every Friday and Saturday night. Which is why we all secretly kinda hate this time of year too. You have to make sure the house is always spotless and there’s always something delicious in the fridge for snacking. I can’t help you with the clean house (still working on that one myself) but I do have  a solution for a quick and easy appetizer to serve in a pinch (or whip up for a party). Most of these ingredients can be kept in the pantry […]

How to brine and roast a turkey with buttermilk

Happy Friday, Sweetie! Can you believe it’s less than 2 weeks until Thanksgiving?! I know! Where did November go?! Thanksgiving is hands down my favorite holiday, I love pretty much everything about it…a day dedicated to being thankful, the cool, crisp weather, spending time with family and friends….and of course, the food. So. Much. Food. And not just any food- all the food that you feel guilty about eating the rest of the year in one glorious feast! A feast centered around a big, beautiful turkey! Now, like most of us, the first time I hosted Thanksgiving I was extremely nervous about cooking the turkey. I collected dozens of recipes, researched the best way to brine, […]

free printable friday- masterpieces

Published on October 31, 2014
free printable- “You don't have to cook fancy or complicated masterpieces - just good food from fresh ingredients.”

Happy Friday, Sweetie! This week I shared a super simple recipe for lamb tacos that are as unique and impressive as they are delicious,  which is exactly what made them the perfect inspiration for todays free printable. Download here! One of my favorite foods is fresh, homemade salsa and the only cooking skill you need to make it is knowing how to chop some veggies and stir! That’s why I love this quote… I often find myself overwhelmed by creating complicated dinners or desserts to serve when friends and family come over, but more often than not, the easier I keep it, the more everyone (including me) enjoys the meal! I could have served my tacos with 3 kinds of cheese and a […]

Homemade Taco Seasoning

Hello again, Sweetie! Yesterday I shared some super scrumptious lamb tacos with you but I forgot to mention one little thing. Don’t. Buy. Taco seasoning. Ever. As I’m sure you know (because you haven’t been living under a rock) pinterest is full of recipes for homemade taco seasoning. And I’m going to add one more, cause it’s super easy…and I like the sound of my own voice…or keyboard? Either way. Don’t buy it, don’t buy it, don’t buy it. The flavor is well worth the 30 seconds it will take you to measure and mix the ingredients, and lets face it, you’d probably hunt through the grocery store trying to find the silly little packet […]
